…a near death experience…

I have a Meyer lemon tree in my kitchen that at one time was on its last leg.  It was out on our patio last summer and got neglected while we were gone.  No water = dead plant.  I really thought it was a goner.  I was going to just let it go to the great compost pile in the sky when I noticed a single green leaf, just one.  I brought it in and nursed it through the winter and this is what happened…

…and there are many more where that one came from.   I am really glad I didn’t give up on it.  So out on the patio it goes to soak up the sun.  I’ll be watering it religiously.

In other news, my friend Marcy has a special new pattern that she just designed for WEBS 40th Anniversary Sale!  The Intemporelle Pullover is really beautiful and you can get it here.

Along with this, today is Marcy’s birthday and she’s having a birthday sale!  Go here and use the special code BIRTHDAYPARTY and you’ll get 20% off all of her great patterns (excluding Intemporrelle) for the next week!  Happy Birthday, Marcy!

I’ll keep you posted on the progress of the lemon tree.  I hope to be making lemon curd in the near future.  Let me know if you have a good recipe!
